They all do, this is Shameless. They’re all terrible people and make terrible mistakes seasonally at least. Vee is a strong female role model, she never wanted to have children and I appreciate how the writers handled her during the Ethel situation. If the roles were reversed and Vee had very much wanted children while Kev didn’t and then Kev acted how Vee acted, that would not at all affect how you think of Kev (he’s just a dude who doesn’t want kids and his wife is forcing him to take care of a little girl? Of course Kev can get upset with Vee because now she’s a bitch who is ruining his life). The reason you look down at Vee here is because she’s a woman who doesn’t want kids.

I DO prefer Kev over Vee, but most of Kev’s great moments wouldn’t be half as great if Vee wasn’t his wife. She’s very supportive, has sacrificed what she wanted for her life in order for him to have children she never wanted. She is willing to do whatever it takes to then care for this family she never asked for. Vee is an amazing woman and easily one of the “better” people out of the cast. Sure, she thinks of herself first before she starts thinking about the needs of others, but for the most part she chooses to suffer in silence until she can’t handle it anymore andTHEN has actual grown-up discussions with her spouse about what needs to happen moving forward in order for her to also have her happiness. ITS AN ACTUAL, HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP ON TV (and I love that shit). She’s incredibly open minded, she’s not a lesbian but she still fell in love with Svet and even started taking care of her son as well, again she never wanted motherhood and yet here she is being the mother to three infants in order to keep her two lovers happy! I’d honestly put it out there that she’s the one who has sacrificed the most other than Fiona and yet she never turned to drugs and abandoning her family due to that stress and instead talked through her issues and flaws that she seems to be perfectly aware of. Sorry for the long rant, I just really do love Vee very very much.
