CMV: Circumsision of infants should be illegal.

I wouldn't tell women who don't think abortion is a good idea they have a "complex" about it but you do your thing. Scientific papers can't teach you experience nor empathy for others. They can only tell you the experience of a team of people working within a specific scope conducted under specific ,possibly dubious, objectivism what the quantitative results were, they can't impose upon you a consistent moral compass or see to the ramifications of your actions decades in the future.

I can tell you this as someone who majored in physics and minored in sex psychology, that academia doesn't possess the objective rigor to really appreciate the consequences of your actions you make as a result of reading someone's paper, who themselves have biases or conflicts of interests in such matters. You can read as many papers as you want on controversial issues but it means little if your picture you draw from it amounts to "there's little to no difference in pleasure."

Because you see there's even a difference between being told the earth is round, and doing a dozen experiments yourself to gain the insight and to appreciate the results yourself. That is an art lost on almost everyone, you will never appreciate the results of a scientific paper as you didn't replicate it yourself, even though the value of that concept should have been told to you in school, and you'll never truly understand what it means experience life with and without being circumcised until you do those studies, and until you experience sex and life both ways.

But despite all that, I know that what you aim for is removing needless risk from your child. So you should know that about 100 babies a year in the US die from their circumcision, and just under 1% have a botched circumcision. So if you want to risk your child dying or having their penis outright amputated in the event that he "might" have complications in the future, that is fully your responsibility.
