ESPN stole and altered my Pac-12 Circle of Suck...

it's literally so easy to give me credit on this

Yeah, but we're not at the point where your average person (particularly if they're over 40) would consider a message board post a creation belonging to its author the way they would a book or newspaper article.

While it seems like we're making progress in that direction, I think we're still a long way away from it. One somewhat significant part of the issue is crediting usernames; even setting aside that some would find it ridiculous to have their "source" be a screen name instead of a person's actual name, you also have the specific names some people choose.

Warox13 wouldn't be a problem, but you got a response to your previous comment from QuackCityBitch. This thread all has responses from Red_Hot_Chile_Miners, ASS_MY_DUDES, 2fucktard2remember, dem_nuts, and JanetYellensFuckboy.

So long as reddit names keep looking like that, we're very unlikely to see most sources treat them as anything serious enough to cite as the source of anything. Contrast with twitter handles, where the majority of highly-followed accounts are just variations of people's names (and which feel more like citing a "real person" since there's a names associated).
