ethics of hexes/curses?? please just let me know your opinions and thoughts

I have only cursed a few times, but my first big spells were all cursed in some form. I do not curse now both because I haven’t found a situation that warrants a curse, but also my views around situations and justice have changed. This is just my view:

If someone is being awful to you, just a totally miserable person, their inner life is miserable too. This isn’t a moment for sympathy (unless you welcome that), just acknowledgement. Causing this miserable person to experience misfortune will make them more miserable, but it doesn’t change the situation you’re in except to unleash a personal form of justice. There’s no chance for healing, no opening for energy shifts or transformations, just good old pain.

I personally like true nature reveal curses. If you can call them that, it’s all up to the witch. But forming a curse not to make the target miserable, but to make the target and everyone around them aware that they’re a terrible, awful, shitty person . . . I think that’s fair retribution in my book. Especially if people begin to avoid them after seeing their true nature and reconsidering their relationship to target.
