Honestly OP, you've copped a small bit of "it won't fly" feedback but you won't know unless you give it a go. This is 100% something, someone out there would pay for. I'd just say the majority of people in this sub are already quite DIY-minded, hence the "we already can do this".

This packed into a simple, user-friendly app with a subscription option for the humanised research part could be quite popular. Far sillier ideas have already gone crazy far. I mean, I just saw some random Harry Potter game yesterday thats being pushed, and you choose your own house... No sorting hat.. So I guess I'm saying, give it a shot OP. There's a lot of popular stuff thats had less thought put into it :d
