Your parents aren't responsible for introducing you to their friend's kids. You're responsible for finding your own friends at school. Do people really think that every child's friend was manufactured for them?

The "social capital" excuse is another load of bull. You don't need friends to make friends, or nobody would have a fucking friend. You need just the tiniest degree of balls to talk to people you don't know, yes, and the tiniest amount of self-esteem to be able to realize that its okay that not everybody will want to be your friend.

inb4 "I can't do that because I have no social inertia". Again, bullshit. You have little to zero social skills, yes. But even if your mom dragged you to another kid and glued you to them as a kid, you'd have still turned out the same way.

Because being social is a skill most people pick up on their own, not something that they baww for like scraps on the dining table.

I am by no means a very social person. As a kid, I was sheltered and had almost zero occasions where I could go out to hang out with kids my age. When I first entered university, I went in without a single friend following me.

When I felt like building a social circle there, I put myself out in the open, joined clubs, forced myself to go to meetings, forced myself to be proactive. I didn't need to blame my lack of social skills on my parents, or society, or the government, or the fucking water supply.

You want friends or a girlfriend so badly? Go make them, then. Go fail a dozen times, go awkwardly flounder until someone, somewhere decides that your company is appreciated. But if you aren't willing to do that, if you aren't willing to keep trying, then blaming society or your mother or "that bitch in 4th grade that didn't want to share her lollipop with me" isn't going to solve jack shit.
