Facebook removes over 16,000 groups trading fake reviews

I'm curious as to what Facebook considers "fake news" or "misinformation". I've seen a lot of bullshit information being spread, but I've also seen a lot of scientifically-backed information being incorrectly flagged as false news and censored. I even had a document signed by the Australian government which was obtained under our legislative Information of Freedom Act. It contained information regarding the validity of a peer reviewed controlled trial study, however, some Facebook bot flagged it as false and deleted it...a governmentally signed document...I don't understand.

Now, first off, I am not against reducing spread of misinformation, but I do question the precident it sets of who decides what is deemed 'misinformation' and what the implications are when we start suppressing freedom of speech and introducing censorship. It may start as a simple social media post block here and there, but how far will it extend? To what extent will suppression of opinion and censorship become? It set a scary slippery slope in motion to one where we're giving away our basic freedoms and rights little by little until it's too late.

I know Facebook is a private company, but it's integrated into our daily lives on a mass scale. I don't know a single person in my circle of friends, who aren't on Facebook and or use Facebook to get their news and information. There needs to be more oversight or ability for appeals.
