They would not beat this team comfortably. They could win but it’s a 60/40 win for Berhalter’s USMNT. The 2014 WC team wasn’t that good. We got dominated by Germany, Ghana, and Belgium. That 2002 team also lost to Poland 3-1 and it could have been more if not for Friedel. We did beat Mexico but they were far more dominant, and on the topic of handballs not called what about John O’Brien vs Mexico?

More dangerous: At 44 appearances, Donovan had 14 goals, Pulisic has 16 in 38. I’ll take Gio Reyna over daddy, and McKennie and Adams are better than Jermaine Jones, with McKennie being a better all around player and Adams being more technical and having gradually earned a starting spot this season. I would take Beasley, Howard, and maybe Steve Cherundolo until Dest improves but aside from that this current team is better. Well, I guess I’ll put Dempsey at striker. As a team people give too much credit to those of the past, and individual;y Pulisic is a much greater threat to teams than anyone before.
