Farming background anyone?

I grew up on a farm as did my partner. We moved to an urban area and have been starting a few garden plots/ are on call to water and help maintain the plots/ troubleshoot garden issue. While I get upset/ can't handle being the one that does the life ending blows/ cuts (Unless it is birds). On the farm I used to get teased or people thought that because I shyed away from killing that I was bothered by guts or blood. Nope- I like doing the butchering- yet- on that same note though- I eat a flex-veg diet most days of mostly vegetables (No milk, NO birds, NO beef.)

I found that a LOT of us that moved from the country to the city share that experience. "It's complicated."

It's ok to be complicated- no one says that we have to fit in as we bridge both worlds. Being with a foot in each does feel weird though.
