Worse than that is that they didn't plan it out. I've followed the whole saga pretty closely and it's clear they didn't think past remaking one of the most beloved video game openers of all time for an easy win.

After part 1 was released they said it themselves; they don't know how many parts it will be, when it will be released, or how they'll handle story elements/carry-over/party size/open-world and other decisions they backed themselves into a corner over.

Two years of no footage on part 2 is a bad thing. SE has completely fumbled their flagship before and I don't have a lot of faith this will shake out well. Even if it does turn out well I'm positive it could have been handled much better.
