Former smokers of reddit, how did you beat your addiction to smoking cigarettes?

Well, the first, and most important thing is, you have to have a genuine will to quit. If you don't have that yet, you simply won't.

But if you do, get online and buy a descent, easy to use vaping setup and get to it. I know it seems weird, because it did to me too..

My best friend since fourth grade (like shared our first cigarette together bff fff ffffff friend, like this shit is for life type friend) had been pushing me make the switch for years and I thought it was ridiculous, but he was always into gimmicky shit, and I've always been the if it ain't broke, don't type.. So I mean, we'd go out, and there I'd be, Mr. Cool Guy, smoking my cigarette, fiddling with my Zippo.. just like he used to be with me.. look over, and watch in horror as my boy pulls this big, black, dildo looking thing out of his pocket, sticks it in his mouth, and tells me it's tastes like smoking a Snickers bar.. I was like,"You look like you're smoking a Snickers bar".. (it was a Provari, this was years ago when they first came out, it was his schnooby dooby, $200 battery mod bullshit and he thought it was sooooo cool at the time.. and they do look like that, and I would never use one, let alone in public) And now I'm even more into it than he is, ha! But now we both have MVP's, so we can be bros again lol!

Which brings me to my recommendation, and I highly recommend this as your first setup because it just kicks ass. I've since gotten into coil building and I have a couple of Sigelei box mods and rda's and rta (which is BADASS when it's working, it's just a bitch to wick so unless it's running like a champ, it stay at home) but stuff like that, takes a little bit more research, and learning, and definitely a LOT more time.. I just sort of chose to get into it for the tinkering aspect of it mostly, and when things are running great, it's frickin' awesome blowing huge clouds of vapor with low ohm's and HIGH watts.. but we're nicotine junkies right?!?! What do I reach for when I'm building and tinkering with all of that crap? My iTaste MVP 2.0. What am I using right now at work because I'm having trouble wicking my bad ass Orchid tank that holds 7 freaking ml's of juice?? My handy, dandy, trust lil' MVP.. Holds a charge for three or more days, and the tank it comes with holds 3-4ml's of juice, more than enough to get me through an eight hour+ work day, and it's replaceable atomizer heads are only about $1.50 each and they give me about 2 solid weeks of use. It has survived a six foot drop onto a concrete floor (with the tank still on it) and it just kicks ass as a first and/or backup setup.. and simply put, for use as the most basic, inexpensive yet efficient smoking cessation device, you can do no better. So here's a link to Mount Baker Vapor and the MVP startup package for $35.99, who I highly recommend as well because they are a great company, especially for getting started in this and not getting overwhelmed, because it can be extremely overwhelming.

But seriously, it hardly takes any getting used to, I still have the last half pack of reds in my cupboard just sitting there, no temptation. In fact, once you switch over, you'll feel cleaner, your mouth will feel cleaner, you'll feel confident knowing that you smell like you, and your HANDS man!! Holy shit your hands won't stink anymore.. (chicks don't like stinky hands lol) I'm telling ya, you won't really miss it at all! Best of luck to you.
