Four students face charges of raping mentally disabled girl at North Miami Senior High

I want to make it clear before I write this that I am not propagating any form of racism.

However, I bet that some of these kids are the same kids that wonder why people discriminate against them. There are a lot of stereotypes attributed to the African American community, and when people who believe in those stereotypes see them play out in real life, those biases become stronger. Even in the comment section here in this thread, racism runs rampant. It's why there was any debate at all about if Trayvon Martin "deserved" to die and "instigated" the fight. Racism continues to exist because of the way the media reports on issues like this around African-Americans and other Blacks. Racism continues to exist because your same old racists see this fucking shit and attribute it to the Black community as a whole.

Eric and Dylan, James Holmes, and the case of Betty Jean Owens, this motherfucker (ad-block recommended for this website.) All white perpetrators. All horrible crimes. The reason why these don't get picked up on quite as much, and the reason why people are so quick to blow them off and say "Man, what a terrible INDIVIDUAL" is because of the fact that the history of stereotypes that create the racism that still exists today, is targeted against black individuals, more specifically, black youth. And it's not even back in ye' olden' days either. From the days of John Brown all the way up to Ferguson, these stereotypes have been shown through the people that the stereotypes applies to.

What's the point? The point is that if you want these stereotypes to go away, you need the people that the stereotypes apply to STOP PERPETUATING THOSE STEREOTYPES.

All of that was really to say that racism, in this day and age, is a load of horse shit. But when a racist sees this in the media, it makes their beliefs stronger. People always wonder why racism exists, and it's right in front of their eyes, every single day. Even if whites (or Asians or Mexicans or any other race really, maybe save for Arabs) commit the same crimes on a regular basis, there is less of a stigma toward them.

So what's the solution? If it were that easy, it would probably already be done by now. All that I know, is that as long as people continue to see things like this on a regular basis, people will continue to be racist.
