Am I doing something wrong?

I'm bored. I've only played for 8 hours. I tried the Story mode and just couldn't handle more janky eyebleed cutscenes, so I've played against the AI in other modes. I can beat AI 100 about half the time but it doesn't feel like another player, it feels like a computer. It's not fun to beat a computer, it's not fun to see the AI stop and stand for a couple seconds because it's been programmed to allow openings.

Online I wait for ages to get a match where I'm usually destroyed immediately. I found one player that I actually had a great fight with. There's also a guy that just stands there and does nothing.

Side note- Why can't I see the player name before I choose to fight them? I don't want to wait 30 minutes to get another surprise visit from AFK -man.

I dunno. I've been on a real DBZ kick recently and want to enjoy the silly anime fighting game, but after eight hours all I've been able to get out of it is tedium and eyestrain.
