French Elections: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO)

Except:

  1. Brexit had no solid arguments and they flip flopped on the issue. And I believe 'bullshit' is a pretty good term for outright lying and not sourcing your statements and backing them up with facts. Not calling out people when they outright lie is a way to Trumpland.

  2. Both 250m and 190m numbers are correct depending what you consider in rebate, roi and what is repaid back via existing EU programs. If you go by EU commission numbers it's 190m if you go by UK statistics office it's about 250m but if you check their reports they are both correct when you see what both consider in their calculation. You would also see it's neither flat our 190 or 250 but a variable.

2.1 Investing in 'our country'. Is to refer back 'bullshit' an idea which has been trashed day after brexit. Not to mention UK would still have to pay into EU. Either membership to EEA or they would have to pay via tariffs and taxes which UK statistics office said would actually be more than the EEA pay in.

2.2 Saying they would be able to regulate trade on their own is also false. As UK would still have to conform to most EU regulation.

  1. He does not pluck the statement from air it's EU/EEA law. EU trades as a body. So UK would either have to join EEA meaning they would pay in about the same so your 'invest in our country' money would have to come from somewhere else. Or UK would need a outside EEA trade deal which would mean taxes & tariffs and you are back to square one.

  2. Yes all are for Brexit. Guess that's why BOE had to threaten other banks...
