Honestly I've always felt that Cait was ace. Like you said, she has this intense focus about her and I've always hoped it's because she isn't really distracted by attractions

I dunno, on the one hand it makes sense to me if they were romantic. On the other hand, it would also be really cool if they were soul mates on a platonic level. It's hard to describe, but one of my best friends I met like a decade ago is a soul mate of mine in a sense that he'll always be a part of my life, I'll always love him, but there's no romance or attraction felt for either of us. We'll always be together though

Either way, I'm happy with the established connection that Cait and Vi have regardless of what may come out of it. Unlike Leo/Di and Vik/Jayce like you mentioned. I agree, I think Viktor just wants scientific pursuits and recognised an opportunity. I think Jayce is in love with his research and grateful someone believed in him. I don't think it's anything more than two scientists supporting each other's findings
