They've been doing this FOREVER. I'll NEVER forget Trigun. The cross gun guy, in the Adult Swim dub, goes into this spiel about where he loses his faith, rebukes and talks shit about God. Fine, whatever.

Then, I watch the sub and the tone is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT and he's frustrated and doesn't go on a monologue about how god is dead. They ADDED it. WTF.

Fun fact I just learned: The manga author is Christian (which is very rare both in Japan, and in Manga). So they idea that he'd shit on God is a bit of a stretch. So they straight up warped the artists original vision to toss a middle-finger to Christians.

And NO, I'm not saying "omg, jesus is the light how dare they". I'm talking about the ARTISTS VISION.

Also, sidenote: Family Guy straight up has different "takes" for different episodes. And I've seen it with South Park but I think that's networks removing different jokes. Family Guy will straight up have different WORDS. In the time travel Germany episode, they go "oh wow we'll finally get to see Winston Churchhill's famed razor wit!" and some one says some crap to Churchhill and he replies (one version) "Yeah, well you're a bitch". [To which Stewie says, "I guess history whittled it down to the gems'] Which is funny. The second version, he says "Yeah, well you're a cunt." They did both versions, possibly in-case they could get it aired (or depending on country)? I'm not sure. Ironically, the "cunt" one is harsher but has much less of a "ring" to the joke.
