Funny incident at martial arts club

I used to train weekly with a buddy that taught Yin style Baguazhang to a small group of 3-6 people. Bagua practice focuses mostly on stances and movements that are designed to build specific muscle groups and neural pathways for strikes, counters, and spatial awareness.

I just typed out a huge paragraph going into detail on the theory, but it is irrelevant to this post. If I had to ELI5, a good portion of each session is like aggressive man-yoga. I was quite in shape at the time but Bagua absolutely kicked my ass. My first time, we trained on and off for 40 minutes and I puked my guts out afterwards.

One week, one of the guys brought a girl. She was a very trendy 'intellectual' type that had an air of superiority about her. It turns out she was a yoga and tai-chi master (/s) so Bagua to her seemed to be some sort of amusing jaunt into boys' feeble attempt to have their own yoga time.

No matter how much my friend tried to explain it to her, she could not get the concept. It is all about building strength for specific movements by tensing antagonistic muscle groups. She tried to mimic the movements but put absolutely no effort into tensing her muscles. What she did was like some sort of tai-chi interpretive dance.

My friend was visibly frustrated by this, but the kicker came after 20 minutes or so when all but her were completely drenched in sweat. To a thinking individual this might be an indication that they are doing something wrong but this concept eluded her. She made a completely condescending comment about how she was the only one who hadn't broken a sweat.

My friend was visibly furious at this, which gave her great pleasure. Not only did she make comments and put out the general vibe that she was superior and that the training was child's play, she did so while absolutely failing to understand the concepts or achieve ANY of the movements correctly. It's funny how they will push a man to the breaking point and then revel in the fact that they are the more mature party - completely failing to see that it was their childish nonsense that caused the situation in the first place.

I've seen bitch-men who actually believe this shit and rationalize that it is totally acceptable adult behavior. In some cases even going so far as to re-write history in their head to match the bullshit she is spewing. "An equal, rational adult wouldn't make up complete nonsense and defend it to their grave, so I must be wrong!!" Pathetic. Wow, whenever I write on here it turns into a huge tangent. I need to take a break from TRP; I get furious thinking about this shit.

TL;DR

Brought a girl into martial art practice. She was arrogant and condescending about how easy it was, while totally failing to do any part of it correctly. When this pissed off the teacher, her ego visibly inflated even more as she had now been revealed as the more mature and intellectually superior party. I would laugh but this shit is way too common.

Tangent ensued.
