I looked for a "Trump is a Nazi" poll and could not find anything, but 55 percent of folks polled claimed "Obama is a socialist".

There could have been numerous people who thought Obama was a socialist and that was a good thing. There are so many "socialists" who don't understand the meaning of the world socialist and just think it means the government doing things. Obama is a socalist is not an equivalent statement because there is a very large percentage of the population who think socialism is a good thing even if they don't even know what it means.

The reason people act like this is that there is a very large portion of the population, myself included, who used to think they belonged to the left because they believed in things like caring for the environment, gay marriage and pro-choice, anti-war policies, but were ex-communicated by what we now call the left because we didn't get onboard with 100% of what they wanted.

We consider this group a monolithic block because its a block which demands its adherents be monolithic, and if you disagree you get kicked out by the monolith vivaciously attacking you. When we are talking about the LEFT what we are refering to is this block, and while I acknowledged that there is still people who consider themselves left-wing who are not a part of this block, the way I see it is only a matter of time before they realize the same thing we did and make a transition similar to that of lindsay
