I'm going to agree with you and complain further ...

Google's admin tools are incredibly half-baked. Basic concepts that go back to Novell NetWare are missing. For the longest time using groups was a bitch, they only recently added the ability to see which groups a user is in on the user's info page.

And good gravy is their documentation bad! Step one, click this menu, step two click the "make it work" checkbox. You're done! But Google, that check box isn't there! Or your instructions are so fucking vague I'm looking in the wrong place.

I've heard a rumor that compared to Google as a whole, the Edu team is incredibly small so it's mainly a time issue. And the product is free so I can't complain too much but damn it can be frustrating.
