Weekly Newbie Thread - Post questions about joining the AF or what a job is like here & here only - week of March 20

Might end up getting 3DOX2 which doesn't seem to excite me. I am worried, because it is listed as a bonus job. Meaning a. Many people do not want to enlist or re-enlist into it for whatever reason, b. Airforce tends to bonus crappy jobs, and c. My recruiter is the type to think of himself first. He offered a bonus job real quick (another one different than this one) quickly even when not on my list. I am open minded and already committed I just want a fair opportunity to get the jobs I prefer if the are available. (I should mention that my recruiter never mentioned any bonuses. I looked that up myself. He doesn't like it when I do my own reaearch. He expects me to only go off what's on the airforce.com site, but that info is too limited and blows smoke up you know where rather than actually breaking jobs down to what they actually are). Any insight on this job would be great.

I understand that it will be dealing with servers. Not the geeky type though. Should I be "excited" to work on IT technical problems all day? Is it any fun at all? I really want personnel, but for some reason he says I have to go open general to get that... No way I'm doing open anything. Can anyone tell me their experience with the job. I really hope it doesn't stink.
