Governments shouldn't be above the law

The MLAs are automatically members of the party, but not everyone who is a member of the party is an MLA. Is your MLA a conservative? If so you did have representation. If your MLA is an NDP, we’ll they didn’t have a leadership vote because Rachel Notley is still the leader.

It seems like you just don’t understand our legislative system and keep confusing it with a republic like the US or something. The premier still just us one vote like everyone else, they don’t get some special veto powers. At best they are the mouthpiece of the ruling party. Do they have a say in party direction? Absolutely. But nothing Smith does over the next 8 month would have been impossible with Kenny in charge.
