Pro-life float at Alberta town’s Canada Day parade generates surprised reaction | Globalnews.ca

I have the belief of woman's health, her autonomy & rights regardless of religion. I have yet to converse with any pro life supporter who does not use religion or interpretations from scripture as the driving force. Religion of ANY kind SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWS IN ANY LAW MAKING in our free democratic country.

I also believe in freedom of speech, let this church group pop off about their beliefs because when it comes down to it abortion in this country will ALWAYS be somewhat accessible whether they like it or not. Women are going to need to have abortions - it's being going on since the beginning and will continue.

This group also has the same photo as a huge billboard along the QE2 heading towards edmonton- you can't miss it. What they did isn't wrong, they are just stating an belief. Take a look and move on in either way as we will always do.

This particular group however has never done this before which I think is something to note - this church community is trying to get talked about, expand their reach which of course they are going to ride the coat tails of a legitimate health crisis. This is strategic, I've been to this parade in Red Deer, I don't recall ever seeing that float.

Maybe the prochoice community needs to come together and make ourselves out there heard in Red Deer and demand more accessible womens healthcare in Alberta (acessibility isn't great.) if they want to be so visible. That's the best thing about freedom of speech, we can talk back.
