Is this really what it costs to buy an 13 year old vehicle now??

Work in automotive but clearly not a mechanic.

The reason old cars weren't as common 20 plus years ago was because they were affordable enough to destroy them. Cars are better because of technology, but they also rely on specific laptops to fix the magnitude of computer issues that can and will happen. Mercedes have like 30 computers in their seats alone

Can't go to a mom and pop mechanic anymore because the companies only let dealers, etc, have the software for the laptops - so another good 'ol oligopoly situation where they can double labour costs in a year and we have no choice or options, and they know it.

Hopefully, the right to repair farmer case forces them to allow access to the software.

Also- noncar should he on the road with 300kms. That's absurd to tell people it's acceptable. Thoughts like that are the reason people think they can sell POS's for more than they were new.

Bad info buddy.
