Guy doesn't answer door, so the police open it. He is not a happy chappy.

I imagine most would be reluctant to open their front door to four police officers who randomly appear at your door without face masks and gloves given the generationally unprecedented pandemic that's happening.

The police used their power of entry, but ultimately for absolutely fuck all, it should absolutely be down to the police force to arrange and pay for a door replacement, not least because of the fact that there's a pandemic and finding someone to repair it and paying for it is likely to be difficult for him right now.

Do you not realise how shite this behaviour comes across to the average person? Just look at the twitter responses, by and large condemning the police.

Of course you can use your powers of entry, but if it turns out to be over fuck all then turning around and being like "well should have let us in then shouldn't you" when the bloke has ultimately done nothing wrong doesn't exactly embody a spirit of policing that most would like to see in the UK.
