That’s not true. Outside of the world juniors no one pays attention to junior players. If you see junior hockey in the news that’s likely due a slow news day or mainly targeting the very small subset of people who care. As a country, unless you are in a Junior Hockey town, we do not care about Junior hockey. If you meet someone in Toronto or Vancouver or other major Metro areas and they say they play in the WHL you do not give a shit. I go to Uni in Canada with a big hockey program, half the people you meet on campus used to play in the OHL, and literally no one cares.

What you perceive of Canada comes from r/hockey and from confirmation bias of what your stereotype wants to reinforce. But it is no way true. Sorry man.
