Hearthstone is very unforgiving to new players

"I dont really want to insult you, but the whole conversation with you started when I wrote that "in normal games, you can buy specific cards".

You must be mistaking me for someone else because that was my first comment in this thread.

"First of all Hearthstone is not a "CCG" (collectible card game), there are no cards in this game - it is a computer game where everything can be created magically. You cannot trade your cards either."

This is such an incredibly idiotic statement. So it's not a card game because the cards are digital? oh boy then I guess there aren't any role playing video games either since you're not actually using swords and throwing fireballs, there are also no sports game either since you're not really on a sports field, right? basically video games as a whole do not really exist according to you. Brilliant.

And of course you can't trade cards you genius, because this a CCG not a TCG, goes to show how much you know about the topic at hand.

"I dont give a fuck that the game gives an alternative to play it for free - the alternative pays you pay with a ridiculous amount of time just to get some random cards, that are probably bad."

Then don't fucking play card games because 99.99% of them work this way. Go play games that you can buy fully for $60, $40 or whatever the hell you want to pay. It's like playing a FPS and whining about how it has guns and a first person view, what you're complaining about is so intrinsically linked to this whole genre than your complains only serve one purpose; to show that you don't know anything about the genre.

"If you want to compare it to MtG, maybe we can compare it with Solitiare - what is free?"

Oh yes, I compare a game that's about collecting cards to craft decks and battle opponents with a game that's about collecting cards to craft deck and battle opponents... You compare to a game that's not about collecting cards in any way, shape or form and that by definition doesn't present any form of multiplayer. Jeez, what a strong argument you present.

"Hearthstone is not a card game, Hearthstone is a computer game with cards. The saddest part is that some people are so dumb that they dont see any difference and they think that the game can be priced ridiculously."

Ok Einstein, let me explain it to you in the simplest terms; the point here is not whether the cards are "real" or not but about how the genre defines monetization scheme. CCGs and TCGs are about collecting cards and building a sense of progression, this as much as part of their appeal as the actual gameplay. If any game developer was dumb enough to make a CCG/TCG where you could just play like $60 and get the whole collection immediatly they would almost surely see their game fail because right away at least half the hook of the game would be gone.

"The fact that a race car costs say 100k dollars, does not mean that a computer game about racing needs to be expensive, and you just wrote that such a game should also cost 100k. Yet somehow your new racing games cost like 60 USD, since the price of computer games has nothing to do with the price of cars. Just like the price of Hearthstone has nothing to do with the price of carDs."

Everything is worth what it's purchaser will pay for.

Anyone that has ever played a CCG or TCG knows that every single one of these types of games are quite expensive in relative terms and yet there are many games like this one that have been succesful. If Blizzards charges as much as they do is because there are enough people that are willing to pay those prices. They are company and like all companies they care about profit first and foremost and they're not going to charge substantially less for their product when there are so many people willing to pay such prices.

If you don't like it, fine, go play another card game... Oh wait, you won't be able to because they're all exactly the same or even more expesnive.

So make a million posts about complaining about it, it won't change anything and only shows how ignorant you are about the genre.
