I believe #3 is the male but don’t quote me on that. I’m far from an expert on the genders. They need to be separated. Male needs to go in a 5 gallon MINIMUM by himself. You can with keep the girls in a sorority (all together) which I don’t recommend for beginners but all together they need atleast 20 gallons minimum. 5 gallons per fish whether they are in a small tank or a community tank. The risks with a sorority is they will either get along or they will kill each other. Their colors are probably dull because I’m assuming they got them from a pet store in a cup. They are in poor condition, one they are healthy and thriving their colors blossom. You parent need to take responsibility and buy them all proper housing since they are the ones that brought 4 fish home without knowing much about them. If they want to keep them in bowls give them to a different home. A bowl is not place for a fish. None of the fish I see look pregnant.
