How many times a day do you feed your Betta fish?

My bettas are fed a mix of quality food. Feeding small amounts two or three times a day keeps them at a good healthy weight. The love to get the food. I don't over feed. I have two bettas, one that had swim bladder disease when I got him and floated at the surface for a week before he was able to go under at all, but since then he hasn't had any swim bladder problems. We're not fish, we don't really know what they need, but we do know they always act hungry, so I figure as long as I am diligent and don't take chances that they are overfed then I am more than happy to feed 2-3 times a day. They love it. I think it would be bad for their overall well being to see me walking around and not coming over to give them any food when they are hungry. That would be a source of stress and stress weakens the immune system. Why wait two days to give them something to eat? After a few hours they go to the bathroom and they end up with an empty stomach for two or three days? I think you're depriving them when you don't need to.
