Sorry but that is complete bs and it's a term used to end debate and shut down the idea that some one might not think like you. It's used to protect your own ego, while at the same time attempting to shame the other person super ego to fall in line.
When you say that, you are saying someone is subhuman and their opinion does not matter. You are not being good and just. You are being reactionary and protecting your political view from scrutiny.
You are also assuming you are superior and capable of both judging and psychologically analyzing the other person. Are you a psychologist? Have you treated the person you are labeling? Would you accept them doing the same to you? That part is always interesting to see. I see the side that does the labeling, assumes they know more about the person than the person does, and believes their are unconscious and ulterior motives, never accept it done back to them. There's nothing behind them. No bias, or unwanted social baggage driving their opinions. Their minds are obviously completely free and all their thoughts are trustworthy.
I'm not sure if I believe welfare programs are good. I'd like to be sure, but I can never have a discussion on it. Just the mere question makes me a bad person. I'm awful, insensitive, obviously privileged, but most importantly just to ignorant. I must not know what others know, bc if I did I would automatically agree. I'm also narrow minded bc I must not be considering other people. I find this one very funny, since the side that views me as close minded, has their mind so made up, that even the doubt of their view isn't possible so it has to come from a horrible, uneducated, subhuman.
And you want to know the kicker? My life has actually benefited from welfare programs, I volunteer, and donate money, but I'm just not sure if it's ethical for the govt to exchange money for votes. I worry about the implication of it being perfectly normal for a govt to bribe voters. Sure this gets done with corporate subsidies, and of course I question this too, but then no one labels me for that; they pat me on the back.
Questioning one version of govt exchange money for votes is just, nothing behind it, just simply good thought. While the other instance surely can't be for my concern of how govt gets votes, no this instance is about me not caring about the poor and minorities, I must want to see these people suffer, and my ethical govt mumbo jumbo is obviously a smoke screen for my bigotry.
Nice play book buddy. It works, so I guess I can't fault you for using it, but I'm not ignorant. I know what you're doing, and if you keep over using it, more people will catch on. So take it as far as it will take you.
