Higher fines for center lane drivers?

Ridiculous. This traffic offense is one of the most subjective you can have.

If there is an exit coming, moving to the center is just common sense. Merging in with traffic doing 90 due to the wall of trucks is pretty much impossible.

Yes, I dislike center lane drivers too. But this is "meme-politics". Find something that people bitch about and punish it harder. Knowing full well that the police can't enforce it and that it is a very subjective thing. Every one who brings the fine to court will win because of that.

Plus, we've known for a while now that higher fines or penalties are not as affective. People who speed, drive in the center lane, know very well they are facing a fine. But they believe they won't get caught. The same is true for most crimes. Stronger penalties do nothing if the chance of getting caught and convicted is low.
