I just think it’s like Davis. I remember all last season everyone talking about how great his hold up play is and goals will come... this season everyone finally gets it. You can’t be invisible for everything you’re not great at. Guess what happens when a team tactically takes that one thing away? Hourihane is world class on set pieces, decent at making himself available around the top of the box, but he’s also just not quality box to box. If you take away his set pieces does he still add significant value? When they aren’t there and we play against top half teams he’s no where to be found.

I mean, even with McGinn and Barkley out at times before Sanson came in, Dean Smith isn’t Rotating him. He doesn’t rate him at the level of play we are now at.

And ask yourself, if he is quality for the EPL, why is it he ended up in the championship? The only clubs keen on him where a division below.

He’s just more of a yo-yo player. Fits extremely well in a top 5 championship team, has some quality in him to occasionally flash, but not good enough to start in the prem.

That’s my opinion anyways. Maybe Swans get promoted and he crushes it next season. I could be wrong, but at 29 is he really going to get better?

And no disrespect to him. I love him for the time he’s and contribution he’s given. We aren’t here without him. But it’s also time to move on and upgrade.
