‘House of Cards’ desperately wants to be relevant. It still has nothing meaningful to say.

It's a TV show that shows the bizarre relation between Frank and his wife and how innert corrupt the political world is. It's kind of something we love, heck even in China the show is greatly loved because how much it resembles the fucked up political world is. It's nothing unbelievable it's literally how we visualize what goes on in DC.

But as a show it's great to to actually see what goes on. Maybe this really happens, maybe not. But as a show you loose your views when ABC and so on outdo your own show.

We are now daily being flooded with Trump. Daily we read how corrupt he is, something we didn't see about Obama. I'm not saying Obama was all great, but at least whatever went on behind the screens stayed behind the screens. With Trump not so much. It's a constant drama. Big Brother but then with actual politicians of whom you wonder who will be voted out next. Non of them pretends to be corrupt, they simply say it outright. You see them lie constantly, you see them enrich themself, you see them do everything a "good" politician wouldn't do. Yet Trump and his cronies do.

So when you open the news and half of your news is about Trump, then House of Cards looses its edge.
