How bad is racism in Singapore?

Honestly, i feel that Singapore is a very tolerant country. We are tolerant of different races, and their practices and cultures but most of us(from what I've seen) aren't accepting of it. In my opinion, that is what makes subtle racist remarks and actions so prevalent in Singapore . We don't go around screaming that "X race is blah blah blah" simply because we fear the repercussions. But racist notions such as (Indians are alcoholics or Malays aren't the smartest of the lot) are fed to us when we are young. And it's often kids who blurt out these racist sentiments, because they have no filter. As an indian, I've heard assumptions and stereotypes about me. Most of them are harmless and often funny, but for me personally, it just shows how prevent these thoughts are in a community.
