How bad when HR finds out I lied on my job experience dates?

What do you mean by contest/correct? The application was through one of the major application websites where you add them to the cart and apply. I tried to sign on but seemed once it was sent in there wasn't a way to update anything.

Some of them are off by years, im such an idiot I don't know why this never even crossed my mind I have always just killed interviews and received jobs. Verifying stuff has never happened to me but this is a big corporation.

Someone advised me they may not even ask about dates, and to not incrimnate myself and bring up dates unless they do. I worked other jobs/volunteering in between that I didn't feel were real relevant and I wanted to keep my resume down to one page. Would it be reasonable damage control to basically say I wanted to give you the general gist of what I thought was applicable I did other stuff inbetween those dates, if you would like exact dates/jobs/contacts I would be more then happy to supply you with them then at that point have it all ready to go?

The head of the department has already pretty much agreed to give me the job, the legal paperwork for the internship between the school and the job site has been signed, and they literally posted the job ad for me. At that point I assumed it was a formality but never occurred to me I would have to deal with HR scrutiny. Only I could fuck this up.
