How can I determine a good motherboard that's sizable for my case and compatible with my other components?

Hey! Thanks for the response and detailed answer, very nice to have the assistance. =)

  • My motherboard budget is around £200 ($265) I can go more though but I'd rather not go too high with the motherboard.

  • I connect with Ethernet,

  • I really don't care to upgrade to DDR4 but then again I'm not too sure on the benefits. (My computer is mostly for gaming so if it's avoidable and I can run with DDR3 I'm completely fine with doing that)

  • I'm going to be honest and admit I'm not actually quite sure what the slots are used for.

  • No, not really!

I don't render a lot no, I occasionally do some editing but it's nothing my computer is being upgraded for. At it's current stage it does everything fine and it's not too great so I have no intentions to have the upgrades for anything other than gaming! Average chrome tabs is probably 2-3.

My main interest is a motherboard that isn't overboard. A good one that I won't need to be replacing any time soon. I also heard from someone that there is a new generation of intel CPUS coming out which will bring the i5-8600 and i7-8700k. One of these will probably be my future go to CPUs so if possible having it compatible with those later down the line. I'm not sure how possible that is and if I'll have to just get a new motherboard when it comes to that upgrade then that's understandable. Thanks!

Agreed! I really do like this case! Definitely was a solid pick, I would recommend it. =)
