I agree with you that he shouldn't be cut, but I also don't think CC420666 is somehow prohibited from caring about this situation just because the guy was signed to the Bucs. He makes a solid, if impassioned point;

He did something pretty shitty, something that could easily lead to his teammates getting sick and not being able to play. Maybe he and Edwards have a similar checkered past, but Edwards isn't hurting the team right now, so I can see there being more anger at Brown.

Brown was also considered a bit of a poster child for the "Bad guy turned good by Brady" narrative. I don't think that narrative is "fair" to use against him, but it makes sense why some people are even more mad.

Personally, I'm mad because he's good at football and now we don't get to use him, but people get really passionate about the players and the related drama. I mean, we're here on a sub dedicated to talking about the players.
