A Republic is a representative democracy. All republics are democracies. Not all democracies are republics. The US is a democratic republic/representative democracy. A Constitutional Republic was meant to cultivate a complex form of majority rule, not enable and empower minority rule, (which conservatives need because they don’t have the support/backing of the majority).

This is such a disingenuously pedantic one-liner that just won’t die. It’s on par with “Democrats were the party of slavery.” I guess it’s easier to feel clever when opting to mindlessly regurgitate erroneous statements, as opposed to demonstrating the slightest bit of intellectual curiosity and acting accordingly before taking something as a gospel.
