Conversely, that means York isn't running classes, construction workers still aren't crossing picket lines, and all the while, YUFA and those undergrads that have been organizing to support CUPE will continue to do so (and both parties have been doing so at a much higher level than previous strikes), and although it seems that part of this offer was meant to damage the unions PR ("You wanted more job security for contract faculty? We gave you some!), media coverage and public opinion has otherwise been historically supportive of the strike. All the while, the weather is getting much better (Tuesday, and Thursday were not nice days, and Friday was particularly cold for people thanks to the wind) which is only going to make things easier for those on the picket lines.

If the rumors about this being a "final offer" that was "time sensitive" or that it had an "expiry date", is true, and that's why there was such a controversial rush to get the agreement to a ratification vote (voting on an agreement that contains significant concessions, and only moderate and uneven improvements, after only a week of striking, is a bit odd), then it's seems to me it's a ploy by the university to force a vote. This vote only benefits the university (either they get a collective agreement that is palatable considering the situation, or they waste the unions time, potentially cause infighting, and potentially damage the unions media narrative). But this is not likely the final offer from the university if it doesn't go through. The union is in an unprecedented situation to strike, especially with UoFT, and potentially Trent going through labour disputes as well, while the university (sans a bit of schadenfreude about UoFT being on strike as well, I am sure) is likely suffering one of it's more damaging strikes per day. This isn't to say negotiations will start a few days after the vote if it fails, but I don't expect York will happily sit by as union members enjoying the warming weather for weeks.
