How do you gain self confidence?

“Confidence comes not from always being right, but from not fearing to be wrong. ” — Peter T. McIntyre

though there are few types of confidence, in my mind.

First is your appearence and self feeling on a deeper level, not an information that you are saying, but a feeling that you bring with it. Then its a positive thing, a confident person is the one who is in peace with himself and the world, one that can accept his mistakes and accepts himselfs, and believes in himself, who knows himselfs.

Second is a logical confidence, so to speak. When a person says something is 100% this way, and no other way. In many cases its an arrogant people saying some dumb stuff. Then its obviously the more narrow minded the person is, the more confident he is. Especially when it comes to the spheres this person doesnt have a special knowledge in. People absolutely confidently saying so many things...

Third, there is confidence as a communication tool. humans are partly monkeys, so generally you need to convey a certain impression to the people, so they take seriously what you are saying and so you would transfer your point across. Also people want simple solutions and directions, they want to rely on something even, if its just an appearance, unconfident person which is mumbling something and doubting everyone of his thoughts, and cant produce a simple formulas and solution, wont be any effective in communicating. also there is a language limits and time limits. So then, a certained amount of confidence is a communicative need, so to speak. And person himself speaking doesnt necessarily confident in himself or what he is saying, he is just "communicating" to get his point across, and thats just how people do. then in this case you should look through it and dont judge people about that.

Also I would say its better to concentrate on not being non-confident, than on being confident. if you know what i mean. The balance and peace is better, then being overly confident.

Then practically and personally, looking back i can say that i became much more confident, when realised and kinda accepted the concept of destiny on some deeper level, thats everything is how it is, and be, how it be. And its not like you are removing yourself from the picture, "nothing i can do", not at all, you are cocreator of the play or an instrument of it, you try your best, but it'll be how it'll be. you know, then you kinda not afraid of the things to come. or should i say less afraid :). believe in the world, and always wonder of what's is happeing! but summarizing: more acceptance, less fear = more confidence.
