How on earth do Saudis keep losing their proxy wars with way poorer and isolated Iran?

Their sovereignty has led to an economic collapse, it wasn't a good decision. Not saying that iran is the absolute worse though, there are many worse countries out there. But they literally don't care about the people and just want to have some nukes, They're so desperate, the "leader" has to always say in every speech how "wonderful iran and its culture is", they literally think that women wearing no hijab is just them being brainwashed by "the enemy"?? Sorry, I'm going on a long rant. In short, some of those paid off proxies are doing far better than iran, and I much rather have iran be a paid off proxy if it means quality of life improvements, choosing sovereignty over the quality of the life of your people is just unethical.
