Can you imagine the sheer terror being surrounded like that? I'm from a racist as fuck country but even when my grandad came to study in the US he was shocked. Even when he began losing his lucidity he would still look shocked, "and they had these busses and they made the black people sit in the back."

I mean, it's weird because in a way Jim Crowe gave racism a face, thus allowing for the birth of the civil rights movement that would propel the US to be way further along in terms of racial equality than its neighbours which continue to be racist and backwards as shit, but damn was the price high.
