if you're not a match then so be it. the standard phrase i use if there's conversation is 'sorry we're not a match'. i'm not going to say anything about his appearance; it's tactful enough and there's nothing rude about it.

you can't let yourself get upset about someone else getting butthurt. it's going to happen. there's nothing wrong with simply saying he's not your type.

as to you being blunt, quite frankly i'm blunter than a sledgehammer but i still try to make an effort to be civil about things. i say no, others say no to me, so be it. life goes on. if you're a dick to me about it then i block.
