[Image] There is no such thing as talent, just hard work.

This is a big argument I love discussing. To me talent is the accumulation of tons and tons of hard work plus that extra natural intuition and ability that allowed them to succeed. I like to think in certain disciplines that are more skill intensive, they can definitely be learned through practice and dedication, let's say welding, wood working or sewing. In athletics a huge factor is simply genetics though. You can train all you want but not everyone is making it to the Olympics. McG is obsessed about fitness and getting better but he has that edge, that internal clock and psychical power that sets him apart. There are hundreds of obsessed and hard working fighters who just don't make it so what is it then? Luck? Maybe in some cases but I'd say it's natural talent coupled with good genes. With let's say music, you really do need natural abilities you cannot teach like rhythm and tone. Sure you can improve those but you'll never be as good as someone who picked it up at 5yo and had it down already. Similar with drawing or art. I say it can be taught and learned like most skills with time and hard work but some people really are wired to understand it easily and can develop their own unique style. But I definitely think drawing is one of those things most people can learn if they put in the effort. I love seeing the progress people make in the art world because you can literally see them improve over time. Plus it's subjective in many regards. One person's talent is another's trash.
