man im all about unique premises or whatever but surely there's a better way to make it in the anime/manga/LN world other than this...

someone came up with this title/premise, wrote it, pitched it to a company, got it approved, hired an illustrator, published the book, and then someone at some other company said hey let's make this into an anime, which was then approved by a whole team of people, then the anime was actually produced, and now they're advertising it. It really baffles me how not even one person at any one point in all of these steps stopped to think: huh, maybe what we're making here is kinda wack

no shade to anyone, i'm just genuinely confused how these ridiculous ecchi shows even caught on culturally, like if you really wanted to make a legit ecchi or hentai anime focused on sex there are many better and more polished ways you could do that.
