Well, a genocide through sterilization is better than through death because nobody will mourn unborn children. I would rather be sterilized than die, and I would rather my father and brothers be sterilized than killed.

And beyond just people Eren is also killing all other life on the planet, and if this was real life there would be even larger unpredictable ecological implications. I think that matters a little bit, too, though as I said it's unpredictable and not really something I could give even an educated guess on.

If I put myself in Erens shoes, perhaps I'd do the same thing. Who knows. But forgive me if my choice is dehumanizing towards fictional characters.

In the end I hope I'll never have to make decisions like these, but a lot of people have to. People who program self-driving cars actually have to consider what the car should do if it has no options but to kill someone. Kill the passengers? The bystanders? The elderly?
