TTGL truly was something special. I've helped a lot of my friends deal with/overcome depression and other tough spots they have been in. I unironically lend them my TTGL Blu-Rays and they think its a joke, when they can't even get out of bed.

About two days later they call me saying they are already on episode 12 and signed up for a gym membership. Of course that is a bit of hyperbole, but I have unironically seen it help people out of dark places. It is just that damn good.

I don't even like Mech animes except for the occasional ones like Big O or Evangelion, which are like standard. Yet, I love TTGL.

I also like how the fandom begs/longs for a sequel, but not actually because they all know the ending was absolutely perfect. A true bitter sweet, that is a bit more sweet.
