The Irish Times: It makes sense to stick closer to Brussels than London on Brexit

Sorry mate, your attitude and argument style are a pretty dead giveaway that you voted to leave.

I didn't, I voted to 'Remain' although I do regret it deeply.

What's more concerning is your persistent failure to state what Ireland has to gain from harming itself and the EU by siding with Britain - all you have offered thus far is vague assurances that you would do the same for us (which history demonstrates to be a laughable lie)

When was the last time we had a chance to do the same for you (that didn't involve N.Ireland)?

and threats that you will tear up an international treaty (for which we could simply drag you before the United Nations for prosecution)

Fine. Give us the sanctions, you still don't get Northern Ireland.

Let me write what you mean: "Ireland should harm itself because Britain demands it. You will lose and we will win. Ha ha ha." No thanks.

No. I mean "Lets Make the British Isles Great Again" and hopefully find a new understanding between us in the process.
