January 23 reaction thread

Took the exam a few months ago, and I have to say today's (01/23) exam is overall, much easier. Finished each section with about 15~25 minutes to spare (including CARS which was surprising).

C/P: C/P section a few months back was next to impossible. Today's C/P was very doable. I changed the way I studied and the materials I focused on after my first sitting. Felt great about this section. Unsure about maybe 4 questions. A lot of simple calculations throughout. I really focused on knowing all the definitions of commonly encountered terms throughout different fields (physics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, inorganic chemistry, etc). That paid off. I expect 129-132 from this section. CARS: Everyone felt this was easy, meaning the curve will be extremely harsh. This section was much easier than the last time I took it (just when I thought CARS couldn't get much easier than that). CARS is normally my weakest section, but I felt great about this section after walking out. However, due to the harsh curve, I expect to get 125-127 in this section. B/B: Love it! I'm a PhD student in microbiology, and this section is my dream. Very angry at myself for underperforming in this section back in September. I knew I could do significantly better. Quite a lot of mol biology (which I like) and almost no physio (great for me as physio is my weakness). I did the question packs, which helped tremendously. Unsure about 2 questions. Expect 130-132 from this section. P/S: Difficulty is relative to how I feel about other sections. Again, P/S is much easier than the last time I took the exam. Passages were very doable, but there were also more ambiguous questions here. Was unsure about maybe 6-8 questions. Expect 128-130.

Overall: either I got significantly better, or the exam got significantly easier (probably a bit of both). Expect 512-521 total.
