Just received my fourth invitation to be a juror. I’ve heard some people go their whole life without getting that letter once. How many times have you been called for jury duty?

Maybe? But you could still get moved to a civil trial. I have a spouse that is loosely enough affiliated with prosecutors that when I get called up, I usually get moved from criminal to civil.

I’m actually set to go in a few weeks and hope I get picked. It’s a shorter commute and a shorter workday than my regular job, and it doesn’t come out of my PTO but I’m not docked salary.

I totally get not wanting to be picked if you’re an hourly worker, though. When I was younger and an hourly contract worker, I was almost placed on a jury for a trial that lasted two weeks. As someone living paycheck to paycheck, that would have been devastating.
