Just seen that an American in London posted this last week, smh.

America does actually have cultures, but the problem is that since the US is basically a bunch of small countries living together under one flag those cultures are delegated across regions and individual states rather than part of a unified American identity, hence why our main ‘culture’ seems so bland and empty in comparison with everyone else’s. (It doesn’t help that many countries have been ‘Americanised’ and are now doing what we’ve been doing for the past century, so it doesn’t seem all that different anymore.)

I’d say the only unified American ideals are an unrequited need for competition, a slight nationalist bent disguised as patriotism, and a very, very large emphasis on freedom to the point of near-anarchy.
